The time is drawing close for fashion lovers to descend in Cape Town for the annual Cape Town Fashion Week. This glamourous event is organised by African Fashion International which host most of the fashion shows in Southern Africa. African Fashion International has recently partnered with South African Tourism so that they are able to develop tourism through fashion. The Cape Town Fashion Week will be held from the 25th July until the 28th of July 2012 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Various fashion designers who are billed to showcase their masterpieces at this prestigious event include Thula Sindi, Leigh Schubert, Abigail Ketz and David Tlale. The communication angle at this years fashion week is to express different perceptions and opinions through the art of fashion. Different garments must create conversation between internal and external stakeholders. The garments must create an image for buyers because consumers usually form perceptions about people according to what they wear.People are able to form meaningful relationships with each other through the art of fashion. What you wear says a lot about a person's individuality. The event will be a good platform to build meaniningful relationships between designers and organisers and it will also create network of contacts for people to keep in contact with each other.
