Fashion garments can enhance communication between people from different races, religions and cultures.

The pantsula style

The pantsula fashion style of clothing emerged in the early 1950's. it consisted of Dickies formal pants, a Nike cap and All Star sneakers. The pantsula look fitted the image of township boys who were not in model c schools and who were not able to afford clothes that are expensive. This culture of fashion has been put into practice by renowned celebrities such as Tkzee, Mashamplani and Trompies. The image that these groups created is that you don't have to come from a rich background to succeeed in life.

Colour blocking trend

The colour blocking trend enables fashion lovers to experiment different colours when putting together an outfit. The aim of the colour blocking trend is to be bright and beautiful, but to not overdo it by mixing more than four colours in one outfit. The colour blocking trend has created publicity with regards to most social events using the fashion trend as a dress code stipulation.

(WWW.FASHION IMAGES.CO.ZA)
The shift from traditional to new media has had a great impact with regards to the fashion industry. people use technological advances such a the internet and google to access the latest trends in the fashion industry.  People are able to buy their favourite items of clothing online without the hassle that they have to stand in long lines at retail shops.
